Re: Editing DKC2 Trivia Mini-Game?

It would be fun to have a multiplayer quiz show game perhaps with more than 2 players (isn't 4 player possible through special SNES controller hardware???). The SNES can support up to five players with a multitap (eight if you have two multitaps, although this has only ever been implemented in one ...

Editing DKC2 Trivia Mini-Game?

DKC2 has the Swanky's Bonus Bonanza mini-game, and it occurred to me the other day that it could be fleshed out into a stand-alone trivia game. With the right ASM hacks, you could have different topics with randomized questions and maybe even a multi-player mode. There's a huge range of topics that ...

Re: Donkey Kong Country - Rock Hard Edition and Expert Editi

@rainbowsprinklez: Thanks for your comment! In the Expert Edition, I removed the original DK Barrels completely, so you won't see them at all. However, if a DK Barrel was buried underground, you may see a hole in the ground where it could normally be found. I may update the terrain in a future updat...

Re: Donkey Kong Country 3 - Tag Team Trouble

@L_Sky: Congrats on the release. DKC3 is probably my favorite game from the original trilogy, so I'm really glad to see that someone's created some new levels for it. I'll try to provide some more feedback after I complete the hack, but there are a couple issues I noticed. First, I had trouble findi...

Donkey Kong Country - Rock Hard Edition and Expert Edition

Hi, folks. I recently put together two fairly simple hacks for Donkey Kong Country, both of which increase the difficulty. Both hacks should be applied to an unheadered DKC US v1.0 ROM. - Donkey Kong Country - Rock Hard Edition - This hack removes the Star Barrels that act as checkpoints - Donkey Ko...

Stop 'N Go Station Bug

I just discovered a nasty bug involving Stop 'N Go Station. Just after the location the shortcut/warp drops you, there are several objects that are not displayed properly. Once you walk a little further, the screen turns black and the game locks up. To replicate the bug, just open up the stage in DK...

Changing DKC object placement with a hex editor

Hi everyone, I had an idea for a fairly simple DKC hack. Basically all I need to do is change a few objects into different objects and change the placement of a few objects. I'd love to use the Donkey Kong Country Resource Editor for this, however, after playing around with the program for a while I...
